Enrollment/Registration Process

Enrollment for Imagine Charter School at Weston is done through a lottery process.  Applications for the upcoming school year 2012-2013 will be accepted from January 2 – February 29, 2012.   Tours of our campus will be held during the enrollment period.  Due to ongoing teaching and learning in the classrooms, parents of prospective students are asked to leave all children at home.  All tours begin promptly at 9:00 A.M. on the following dates: 

·         Wednesday, January 18, 2012
·         Wednesday, January 25, 2012
·         Wednesday, February 1, 2012
·         Wednesday, February 8, 2012
 
Applications during the application period  are  available in the front office or can be submitted via this website.   Parents are responsible for ensuring that information submitted is accurate and up to date.   Please click on the “Enroll Your Child” tab on the right of the screen to enroll online.

All new applicants will be entered into a computerized lottery system that will select students for enrollment randomly and generate a wait list for each grade. Wait lists are kept for the year until all students on the lists have been called.

The lottery will take place during the first week in March 2012.  Students who were selected will be notified by mail. The admission letter will inform you that your child has been selected and will contain instructions on how to register. 

Parents will have a deadline in which to come in and officially register their child in the school for the 2012-2013 school year, otherwise the spot becomes available to another family.  Students who were not selected through the lottery will be placed on a waiting list and will receive a letter stating their waiting list number.

As spaces become available throughout the summer and next school year, we will invite applicants on the waiting list to enroll. It is the responsibility of applicants to assure that the school has up to date contact information. Applicants that cannot be reached will be removed from the wait list. Once notified, applicants will have one business day to schedule an enrollment appointment. Applicants who fail to make the appointment or enroll will be removed from the waiting list. The seat will be offered to the next applicant on the waiting list.

Students who withdraw from the school must re-apply through the lottery system. No preference will be granted for having attended the school in the past.


Registration Requirements 

·         Updated immunization records both the yellow and blue forms
·         Two forms of identification for the parent registering the child
·         Proof of age for the child i.e. birth certificate or passport

Proof of Broward County residency in the name of the parent/guardian of the applicant must be provided.  Proof of residency can be any of the following:  CURRENT water, electric, gas or mortgage statement or a purchase agreement.
